Default gauges?

i have a 1969 mustang im tired of the old gauges i want to up date them with autometer gauges. i was wondering if anyone knows of some sort of guage pod or panel for the dashes gauges so i can replace them with autometer. the only thing i found was a really expensive kit already load with the gauges and it cost like $1000. So i wondering if anyone on here has ever done anything with there 69 gauges.

http://www.haneline.com/

Still $625.00 and you send them your original dash, but they do the whole thing.

You might try National Parts Depot (www.npdlink.com)... I remember seeing some after-market dash panels in the 'interior parts' section of their catalog (that you can download from the website).

You might be able to get a piece of stainless steel and cut it out to fit in place of the original bezel. I have seen this done on a 65 and it looked awesome! You can put the gauges in anyway you want that way.

Hypothetically, if the new gauges are the same dimensions as the old ones, I see no reason why they wouldn't fit. Now, finding them and hooking them up might be a whole different story.
