I will point out one thing, when you are 17 you don't know anything for a fact, you just think you do.

I have a 1965 Mustang with a 200 c.i. and was thinking about dropping a 289 in, and was wondering how much of a hassle that would be.

It is unbelievable what a set of key started..to add to the mess I purchase my 66 from the original owner and he had the original Pony's keys..however I previously own a 69 a 70 and a 68 Bronco and all the keys were the V tipe.. [sm=interesting.gif]

That is a good idea. My car came from the Dearborn plant. Those of you with the V-shaped keys, which plant did you cars come from?

FYI, NPD sells NOS 65-66 Pony keys for the trunk and locks/ign. 1.95 each

I would venture to GUESS that both key types were available since I have an original V style FORD set with my 65. Maybe one or both came from the factory and maybe the dealer cut one type b/f the car was sold. I never bought a new car that only came with one set. In fact, the Ford Taurus (company car) I had had two sets. One was more aesthetically pleasing to the eye while the back up was just plain metal, nothing fancy.

One thing, for those posting pictures of keys, that's a REALLY bad idea.

It's downright trivial to cut a key from a picture, if you know what you're doing. You see people fuzzing out their plate numbers, I'd think this is the same deal.
