carb issues?
when it rains it pours. i ran the car for about 30 min to run errands, stopped and started a few times. i got it back to my house and stalled out on me and acted like it was flooded. i waited 15 min, tried again and it sputtered to life and would only run if i kept the pedal down. its like my carb is screwy. i tried tweaking the mixture but nothing. so now everytime i fire it up it stalls and acts flooded. any ideas? my thought was fuel pump, i disconnected the line and it has pressure maybe issues with the carb?? thanks in advance...

I was having a very very similar problem as the one that you are. To make a very long story short the problem I was having wasn't the carb but the vacuum advance on my distributor. A way you can check is to remove the vacuum advance tube from the dist and plug the hole up then try starting your car and see if that helps.
If you see gas coming in when looking on top could be a problem with floats sticking. You did not say what type of carb you have or how old. Problem I had was 40 year old fuel lines varnishing up filter.
Sounds fuel related.
1. Look into carb with someone truning over - see gas spewing - that would be floats sticking. Especially if adjusting makes no difference or
2. Unplug gas line from carb and turn over - should see gas coming out at a pretty good rate - if not filter or pump.
Take off gass line going to car and turn over - if gas coming out probably not fuel pump.
