it won't start after driven
here is the scoop i have a 67 mustang with a 289 2v\c4 with a\c and powersteering here is my problen i can start my car up from cold and drive it for a million miles but if i stop anywhere in between it won't star again until it cools down and i am thinkin that i am having vapor lock because my fuel line is right on top of the water pump and when this think warms up its hot so do i need to move my line or is there some type of insulating wrap that i can use for the line and i do have a spacer under the carb
could be timing. same thing happened all the time to my buddy's 68 w/347 stroker his timing was off by like 30-40*. it was embarrassing as hell cause just before we went to get in we were talking to three hot chicka's about it and they were like "i'd do you cause you have an old stang" and than i woke up and realized it was a man! JK, but really, check the timing and moving the fuel line couldn't hurt either.
I second the timing. Frist day I got my stang it ran fine. Parked it over night, came out next morning and it would start. Timing was adjusted and it purred like a tiger getting choked. (exhaust leak)
just start the car and spin the dizzy slowly, if it sounds like it's dieing out, go the other way, you can pretty much tune it by ear, just try and listen for the point where it sounds like it's running the smoothest. also, do try and re-route the fuel line away from hot spots. if the problem continues than i'd say take it to a shop (unless you have a timing gun and can do it that way to begin with).
EDIT: mine was about 100* to 120* off and ran fine (if you can call it that). did the tune up and it didn't wanna fire. i had to 180 the dizzy cap and adjust back to get it running sweet. than i destroyed the intake when trying to take the exhaust mannie off, broke the heads off of about 7 bolts and sheared the rest level with the head. i was able to get 2 out without a hitch.

starter might be getting real hot after driving and not doing it's job or...if you pump the gas when its warm you'll flood it pretty easily. Might want to look into a high torque mini-starter.
Have you tried putting it in neutral and starting it? I just bought mine a week ago and mine does the same thing. For some reason my car thinks it's way over heated and wont start in park. I have a 302 in mine don't know who did it or how long ago it's an auto. No a/c but aftermarket power steering. I'm honestly not sure what's wrong with it because I'm a newbie and really wasn't interested in doing anything in my car till I bought this mustang now I want to do it all myself but I know I can't for now. Once in neutral it starts fine and runs great and my temp gauge drops back down to halfway. When I bought it I had some low compressions in there but since replaced some burnt spark plugs and adjusted the timing and it's closer to a purr than a hairball now.
