Realigning my bumper question.
Just put a new bumper on my 65 and have exactly the same problem, got mine a little better adjusting the bumper to fender brackets, but it still isnt exactly right, think I can take care of more of it by doing a little bending at the midddle brackets, get out the two pound hammer and go to it.
man, you are so **** about stuff
from one ar guy to another, it sounds like it is the bumper considering the original or previous didn't carry those symptoms. i would try a different bumper b/f messing with brackets and other stuff b/c some day it may need replaced again and the new one will be off b/c of your tinkering to get this one corrected. nothing a buddy, some beers couldn't fix with a little coercing.

I guess I am just **** retentive.
However, if you look at it closely, you will see that it rises up as you go from the front of the bumper toward the 289 emblem. The other side is not that way. No, it's not upside down.

I would agree with the fender to bumper bracket. I know when mine was missing that bracket it could flip and flop all over the place. Maybe there is not so much a twist that can ever be seen if you need to adjust the bracket. Personally, I would check that first. Take it off and see if the bumper lines up without it. If it does, bend the bracket. Heck, even if it does not, I would bend the bracket to make it line up. Again, I don't think you will notice any "twist" if there is any from the resulting "bend". Good luck!
My Explorer and every single Explorer I've seen of my body style has that same bumper problem. I have no clue what it is. If you can't get the bumper straight, why dont you tilt the world to align with it[8D]

one of the two middle suppots bars (PS center bar, coming straight off the frame rail) is twisted and the outer bar on the opposite side is broken off (from an accident involving a dump truck! [:@]) and the bumper never seemed straight, like a previous post said, try takin git back off and laying in flat (make sure the surface is level before you do or you will have an aneursim(sp)) and see if it's slightly twisted. worst comes to worst, just hire a fat chick to stand on it for a day!
