Pretty much, there is a gasket that goes with the new one as well, take care to clean the old pieces of gasket off. Some type of gasket sealant may be used as well, Not sure what to recommend though

Its a pretty simple job. Don't bust the original FoMoCo radiator when you pull the fan off, I know form experience.

Nathen..it is a very simple job I am pretty sure everyone does it but I do remove the radiator for the replacement it is a few more minutes but give you much more room to work and it much easy to remove the fan and also is a good time to change the coolant , as for the gasket sealer I use Edelbrock Gasgacinch, clean the old gasket from the block apply the sealer on both surfaces and let them dry for about 5 minutes them place the gasket on the pump and bolt it on

I use Blue RV for gasket goop. Just a very thin layer with the gasket will be sufficient. And, unless you have steel knuckles, taking out the radiator is the best advice anyone can give you.
