yea som1 made a kit for a centrifugal SC back in the 60's for the smaller 144 inline 6 but it bolts right up to 200 without any problems they only thing is they r very hard to find nowadays and when u do find them they arent cheap and r usually incomplete
i'm feeling a little dumb right now (hungover! []) centrifugal is the one that bolts on and somewhat resembles a turbo as it isn't dircetly connected to the intake?

just ringing in on this one..new here.... I drive my 68 six banger stang 4 to 5 times a week. I go through about a tank and a half and I am not easy on it. Stock head, carb, gears. I added petronix with flamethrower (runs smooooooth), Clifford dual outlet header (throaty!), MPB power brake booster...thats it. I've gotten it up to 110 on the (flat) freeways here in the Dallas area and regularly drive it 70-80 just so I dont get run over. Not sure I want to get up much faster than that unless I swap out the old drums for disc...at least on the front. No idea on the horses yet. After I upgrade to a Webber carb I'll be more curious. Just adding the Clifford header made a huge difference in the feel and power. More bark than bite still but hey....its a classic!

I used to live abotu 5 miles from where clifford was when they were in Corona, Ca. I got the Webber carb & adapter from there and the header. header through 2" pipes sounds sweet. Havent put the carb on yet. My autolite has been fine after a rebuild but I'm curious about the webber. had the header for a couple years and not one single problem

i didnt mean their parts are unreliable which cause they are as reliable as anyone elses but their service is very unreliable and their customer service is almost non-existant since Jack has passed and they keep saying they are coming out with this almight head that they keep bumping back the release date of and wont tell anybody any of the details on on the other hand classic inlines they have an aluminum head coming out and they have had some set backs where they have had to bump the release date back some but they keep all of their customers up to date at www.fordsix.com and have posted pics of the prototype head and always tell us what is happening with the head and all of their other new parts coming out

more power. the down side is (not always) gas mileage. it may use more gas, but you will have increased power while keeping the weight down. v8's can get heavy at times. i mean you're not saving a tremondous(SP?) amt of weight, but it's a few pounds.
I am doing a swap now from the original I-6 to V8 and i can't see adding a super charger to a 6 for power. If you want power than a V8 is definately the way to go. Any weight that is picked up from a V8 engine is definately compensated for in power. Like you said it is only a few pounds.

(Clu7ch this does not apply to your post)
But i also see the point if you want to keep it originalbut, a super charged six really is not original.
Speaking of original I have a complete I-6 available ran great before i removed it Monday.
