I just pulled the carb. It's a 2v. So now I've set up the poll. Has anyone had any bad experinces with rebuilt carbs?

i havnt personally, but when i was thinking about rebuilding my edel carb, my dad strongly advised me to not too. he has rebuilt 4 or 5 carbs and none of them have ran the same since so i gave it a good cleaning instead. runs like a champ now.
If you do decide to go with a 4 barrel holley or eldebrock you will need a new intake manifold,thermostate neck,intake gaskets and maybe a new linkage. A codes did have 4 barrels just not quite as big as k codes

A properly set up 4 barrel wont get any worse gas mileage than a 2 IF you keep your right foot out of it, i didnt even know they made a two barrel that big. I would have to think if you are going with a carb that big a four barrel would be more efficent
Yeah I don't mean to be cheap here but I really don't want to buy a new intake (my funds are relatively limited). Ill definitely be a safe driver, especially with this car, but I kinda want to be able to put my right foot into from time to time without feeling guilty about the $ I'm wasting in gas.
