I couldn't find originals so for now bought a set with tags on them and will keep searching for originals.

Some of my regular Mustang vendors didn't seem to have them, no matter what name I searched under.

I didn't think they were called running boards as my mother used to tell stories about them from her childhood, plus I've been truck searching and that terms is often used (as they're often rusty and worn).

These appear pretty simple to install so I can't wait to get them.

Pammie, they are called door scuff plates. If you do a search you will come up with the correct ones. Here is an example. Just type in door scuff plates for a 65 and you can order one.

They can be ordered through several online suppliers. Had the catelogue for NPD on my desk so I have referenced it.

National Parts Depot-Closest to your location is the Michigan Depot @ 800-521-6104

Scuff Plate, Door Sill
65-68 Coupe -Original (Limited Supply) #013208-2 $39.95 each
65-68 Coupe -Reproduction #013208-2A $10.50 each

Both of the above come without Ford decal

Decal
65-66 Black #P-1 $1.50 each

Califorinia Mustang also has them in repro, but are a little higher.

Thanks -- already ordered a set as NPD didn't have an online catalog but I may get the originals from them and just resell the aftermarket set.
