Ok, so tomorow im gonna place an order for that shroud and new radiator cap, i also saw some flexafans in there that looked pretty nice and i hear they do a good job, If i go with one of those, do i need a spacer or what? any comments?
Also, it sounds like the entire cooling system must be completely sealed with no place for pressure to blow out, but when i installed my new temp. gauge in the old location on the manifold i forgot to use thread tape and it had some coolant boiling/bubbling out over top, could this make a difference?

Might be hard to say until you actually have the fan in hand. Again - you want that spinning fan to be pretty darned close to the radiator (.5" - certainly not more than 1" away). Get the fan you want to use and hold it in place against the stock spacer. See where it rests and then determine if you need a new spacer and what depth it should be. You'll find a universal-fit unit you can use at your local PepBoys/Autozone/O'Riley's.

Might be smart to go ahead and get that shroud now too. As long as you have the fan off, you may as well use that chance to install the shroud.

Yeah, Danny is right. You are going to have to pull the radiator to get the new fan on anyway, and you will need the radiator off to put on the shroud, so kill two birds with one stone. Now about the fan. Are you talking about a flex fan, or a cluch fan? The clutch fans are superior to the flex fans. Flex-a-lite sells them both.
