Default Finding lost Mustang

Hello, we had a made in '65 coupe (actually a '66 I believe), tahoe turquiose blue.

We have the old pink slip, but sold it in '96 to help buy our first home. Obviously can't find the VIN on carfax, etc, because it's not the newer 17 digit. It was a Cal car, DMV says it's in another state now. Any suggestions besides contacting each state DMV?

My wife also had a '65 fastback, same color. If we can't locate the original, what is a good way to locate a '65-66 coupe or fastback same color?

Thanks!!!!

Contact the person you sold it too, and so on.

That site doesn't have 65-66 Mustangs. Trying the owner to owner now... Any other ideas?

Nice fastback pic, anyone know where I might find one of those in the tahoe blue??
