how would D00E heads from a 351 do on my 289 i am looking for better flow and to keep a bit of my compression

fine, but you WILL need spacers to make up the difference in head bolt diameters

OK, so you are up to $270 (shipping) and will have to sink about another $500 for rebuilding, then custom headers due to the spark plug angle of the P's...I personally would buy a good set of aluminum heads for about the same price. You can buy NEW aluminum GT40 heads for $1040 a pair
