I found a saddle console on the net that just slips over the original console, but it costs nearly a hundred bucks! My main attraction to this thing is that it has drink holders that would eliminate the little fifty cent peice of plastic that hangs on the door (right in the way of the window crank). I know that I can build one that looks just as good if not better for a fration of the cost but it would be helpful if someone had a photo of one of these in place so that I could get a better idea of the placement.
I also need to know where to get the power for my tape deck. When I had the new wire harness put in, they did not give me a line for my tape deck (which wasn't even in the dash at the time). Would it be proper to run a line from the post on the back of the ignition switch?

BTW all this is refering to a 66 with standard interior

If it is the saddle, you don't need to install it. It just sits on top of the existing console on the back of it and the back of the saddle is located just before the ash tray. And, yes you can get power from the back of the ignition wire, or from the fuse box. I would use the accessory wire from the back of the ignition switch if I were you.
