Got my Stang back.
Hello everyone. I have a 1968 Mustang Coupe 302 and been lurking on this site for a few weeks now when I found out I was going to buy my old mustang back from my brother. It's a long story but I'll make it short. My Dad bought the car for me when I was 14 years old. It basically was a pile of junk. Engine was in the back seat, interior shot, and paint was non-existant. The good thing about this car is that it still had all the original parts, no body damage at all, and no rust anywhere. So I spent the next two years re-building the enitre car. At 15 I rebuilt the engine, brakes, and did most of the paint prep. The car was 90% completed and in excellent condition. Then I left for college so my dad bought it from me at a good price and a few years later he sold it to my brother. My brother thought of this car as transportation and not a collectible so when I picked up the car last weekend I found out I will have to start over completely and pretty much re-due the entire car. It has been 9 years since I have owned the car so I'm happy to get it back. Now that I have the money to do some serious restoration and mods to this car, I'm really excited. It's also cool that it was my first car and now I can pimp it out and keep forever. First I just have to get it drivable again. I'll post pics later
I was thinking custom paint job, 347 stroker, disc brakes all around and a nice modern interior for starters. Any other ideas?

If you have to start all over, how about a modified Boss 302 theme (Maybe the 347 bottom with Cleveland heads). Everything is available to do this, and it wouldn't cost a whole lot more than what you are all ready thinking. I'm seeing a lot Shelby clones, but not a lot of modified Boss 302 cars. As a desert racer, I'm sure you have the "need for serious speed".
Welcome to the forum. We look forward to seeing pictures and hearing your progress.
And congratulations on getting your car back into the hands where it belongs.
