Default Cleanup has begun.....

Just to throw out an update...

I bought this basketcase 67 "S" code Fastback a few weeks back for $1200.... Here are some before and after pics. I've started stripping paint and cleaning up some rust.....

Before

After

I've removed all the paint and Bondo to reveal the worst welding in history.....

Here's one cleaned up floorpan....and the other is next....

More on the way, anyone know a good cost on a undercarriage sandblast?

I'm not going to lie, that looks like a good donor car at best. BUT, if you can do it right, kudos to you browski.

everything on my car sandblasted EXCEPT the under carriage for 450, the underside will get blasted late, followed by a coat of spray on bedliner

I actually did a 68 Vert that was worse structurally than this one. If it wasn't an Fastback "S" though, I woulda let her go....

The good news is that if it takes 10 years, it'll be that much sweeter to drive her....

So the entire car for $350 would be a good deal then. That does not include a primer coat though.

ya, i have a car similar to that, lol. driver's floor rotted through. trunk rotted through, both fenders pretty much gone...if i had the money, i'd buy a plasma cutter, sandblaster, and welder, and i might be able to save her but i'm gonna have to sell her cuz i dont have the tools and money. plus i leave for college in like a year. but even with all this work, i feel its worth it so i gotta give you props, yo.lol

I hate to say that a car is "too far gone." Less of these cars are around every day... Kinda like I'm saving a dinosaur.
