v belt conversion/supercharger?
im trying to convert my 65 v belt ot serpentine. the reasoning is so i can have the possibility of placing a supercharget on it. im just wondering if any of you guys have pics of your stangs or know a good place to look for what i need. also i know the waterpump circulates the opposite direction than new superchargers, can i use a 302 water pump or should i buy a new one? what do i look for to do these projects... please help.
find a 5.0 and swap acc. that will be the easiest way. you can probably find a groved water pump pulley if you wanna keep your water pump. ill probably be selling everything you need soon.
Go to March Performance. They have a couple different serpentine conversions, even one with a standard rotation water pump (what you have).
You could swap in a reverse rotation from a 302...but you'll have a small problem. These waterpumps have the water inlet on the driver's side...not the passenger's side. You may be able to find the right water pump, just look around.
Also, what type of blower do you plan on adding that you need to convert to serpentine? A roots style will add a pulley to your crank and the belt will have nothing to do with your accessory system...which is a good thing.
