No, I'm serious about reading an article about a man that did that alteration in his garage at home. I wish I would have kept everything I have read, but then I wouldn't be able to get into my office if I did.

It says on that auction that the guy that they hired to design it started doing it when they decided not to. Read through it if it's worth researching.

thats gay, i dont like it, especially the back, ew.
Yeah it is, but you have to realize that back then, the 50's and early 60's Ford convertibles had that roof that would fold down into the trunk, so it was quite desireable at the time. The 1956 Ford convertible "Sunliner" was one of the most beautiful convertibles ever produced by Ford, and it had that electric fold down top.
actually., it was 1957-59, and working on one is a Redass...there are 9 motors, 8 relays, a ton of fuses, a spegetti works load of wiring....my wife and I used a '57 as our transportaion between the church and our reception at our wedding. The trunk of the Skyliner was 18 inches longer than the standard soft top Sunliner due to the length of the roof (which still folded), yet only had a small cargo area.

Soaring is right...he sold the plans to Mustang Plus and they offer that as a kit now

ford has not made a rumble seat since 1939 (last year that the antenna was on the roof until the Focus)

It does exist. They never produced them though, They had a special on HorsePower, or Two guys Garage or somthing, but i remember and the Prototype cost was $250,000.00 wich just imagine back then was BIG BUCKS! That is a kit however There was only one I believe and even if there was 5 made a Classic like that wouldnt be at any E_BAY auction it-b Barret Jackson or somthing.

I believe they had an article on that in Mustang Monthly and it showed a series of pictures so you could see how it worked.
