master cylinder replacement...
so i took my car to the shop and they checked/found what the problem was with my brakes. Theres a leak in the master cylinder! therefor im buying a new one. i have never replaced a M/C and would like to know how difficult is it. the shop want to charge me $127 for labor. what do you guys think?...
Do you know how to bleed your brakes? If so, then this isn't a bad job. Two bolts hold on the cylinder, along with the brake lines.
Most people bench bleed the cylinder then install it and bleed the brakes. I never have bench bled my new master cylinders and have very solid brakes on all my cars.
But, $127 is kinda high for an hour's worth of work, but at least it does include all new fluid with freshly bled brakes (at least it should).

yeah if u know how to bleed brakes it will be well worth doing it yourself(a cool thing u can get at the auto parts store is called speed bleeders) they allow u to be able to bleed the brakes by yourself!
I suggest you bench bleed your new MC before putting it on. $127 is a ridiculous price for one of the easiest jobs ever.
Here's how to bench bleed the MC.
