Sedan convert to fastback
Hey guys,
I am from Malaysia and found a junk 1970 sedan Mustang for sale. Pricey at it's condition but I prefer it in fastback form. Know where I can order parts for fastback to convert it to a fastback? Am sure I just need the back end body work isn't it?
Thanks!

possible but damn expensive, if you want a fastback wait till you find one, converting the coupe to fastback will require some things that are hard to get repro if made at all and some damn fine body skills and what do you get a bastard that will be worth less than the coupe probably, vin not matching body etc

other thing is also importing from the philippines which used to have american bases. that s why you will still see some old stangs literally in barns. A friend got a 67 fastback survivor for a reasonable price.
have heard as well that there are some in thailand since i met people here who drive them in Pattaya. And when i was in saigon I saw one still being driven around...remnant of what the Vietnamese there call the American War?
sometimes the hunt is part of the fun

Hey guys,
I did some research on that here, It's a pain actually. We require an approval from the Government before we can actually bring in a car. And only government officials can get them easier. The tax will depend on the age of the car. And it varies from 300% to maybe 0% on the value of the car. But since it's an old car that should not be a problem. Another issue would be the shipping cost. But I think that getting the approvals from government is the major obstacle. Muscle cars have always been my dream to own. Oh well I won't scavenge that Mustang then since as you said the price itself might not be worth it. Heh!! Hope to find a fastback here then. There have been muscle cars for sale but in the currency here it is about 70 grand! Because those are rare cars, that's the reason. Even the non performance models could fetch at least around that price. There is a Trans Am that looks like Knight Rider and it is 50 grand!! That is so crazy.

make a trans am type car out of the coupe it would be alot easier to do than finding a roof in the states getting it imported and welding it on smoothing it out etc
