Default Installing sound deadner material ?

Hi all,
I got my carpet and sound deadner. The sound deadner looks like 1/4' asphalt shingles.
Anyone put this in and how did you secure it to the floor?

I think some of that stuff has the sticky backing, but when I used to do it we always had to use a heat gun. Once heated it would form and stick great.

Skip, I think I got the same thing you have sitting in my basement. It is like tar sheets with sand or something gritty on it. Get it warm and press it down hard. I am opting something else though, so I need to get rid of it...

One side should be smooth. Peel the sheet off of the smooth side and there should be adhesive on the bottom of it. At least that's what I got.

I bought the same stuff but have not installed it yet. Not only does it look like asphalt roofing material, there roofing instructions printed on one side. I am less than impressed and will probably not install it. There has to be something better.
