RE: Hidden Radio
I would definitely use metal. You could probably jsut make like a U bracket that hugs the cd player, with lil tabs on either side for bolts to go through, put some holes in the top of your glove box and if u can maybe put some kind of metal bracket on the other side of the glove box for a lil more strength. Then just drill a hole in the back of the glove box (or maybe on the top behind the cd player) to run your wires. I think that would work....

fiberglass, make it a custom mount with integrated metal tabs to hold it in. you'll get custom colors and a larger option of stuff to put in it.. Custom Autosound.comhas the radio and mounting hardware though if you want it.

RE: Hidden Radio
I didn't install it myself but I believe it's bolted to metal above. It came with the Secret Audio kit but I did not get the CD changer. The head unit is mounted under the dash.
From their website, "Included with the system is a flush mount bezel for console or dash mounting. The small dimensions of the flush mount system allow you to install the LCD display almost anywhere. The LCD also comes with a bracket mount for easy installation in the glove box, under the dash, in the ashtray, sun visor, console, or wherever you choose."
The only thing I'm not fond of is the remote, as it uses radio frequencies so when I drive through the woods or certain parts of my town, it simply won't work.
And no, that's my screwdriver kit ... a girl never knows when she'll have to screw something.
