And that may free up a little power also. It will reduce the speed of the driven components, a good thing for a higher revving setup (gears, etc.).

march FTW, I don't think there are many other brands that match it...maybe steeda but I don't think they make any sets for the classic stangs.

It simply means the pulleys will reduce the RPM of the components when compared to the factory pulleys.

Pulleys are pretty simple to determine RPM. If you have a 6 inch crank pulley and a 3 inch alternator pulley, the alternator will turn 2x the crank speed. If you drop the crank to 5 inches, the alternator will turn 1.67x the crank speed, or about 17% underdrive.
