engine balancing (external)
also alot of guys building motors go with the vintage rotating assemblies and have the lip ground down on the crank to be able to use the late model block with the 1 piece rear crank seal and because the vintage crank is stronger and can handle more power
also the less external weight the better throttle responce will be. Thats why mine will be interanl balance as i said before I am a machinist that balances cranks all day long.
check the balancer if the rubber thats sandwiched is dry rotted its a good ideal to replace it because the outer ting can slip and make timing the engine from the timing marks impossible
i thought when ford changed the blocks for roller lifters and a one piece rear main they changed the crank to accomodate the seal and THATS when they went from 28 to 50oz
was i wrong?
was i wrong?
The 1985 GT was the first year of the 5.0L engine.
[edit] brain faster than fingers, I meant to say '85 was the first year for the roller engine in the Mustang. Duh.
