Default Burnout??!!

My 68 302 is a stock....no upgrades no nothing...front disc rear drums.....a friend was over and he was urging me to do a burnout and i told him i would pop the drums.....if i tried that is..but i refused to do so......what I would like to know..if i really wanted to...could i do a burnout? I mean its just popping the clutch slamming the brakes and holding the car at around 3000 rpm...right?

whoa....where did the breaks enter the equation...im not sure, i dont even drive yet, but i dont think you use breaks at all....i thought you just let the car roll backwards then slame it into gear.......thats my 0.02

Of course you could. People do burnouts with little pos cars all the time, so with yours it should be no problem. It's not the greatest thing for your car, but it's definitely doable......

He's talking about powerbraking. Using just enough brake to keep the fronts locked while the rears slip. You're talking about doing a rollback.....

Positive traction rear end, where both wheels are pulling.

THe only thing that hurts is in the first few seconds when everything is under a load. Other then that, as long as you're not red linned, there's not realy a load on the car. Well, I suppose if you're w/out a spare tire things could get a little tricky limping back home
