Without roping me to a pole and setting me on fire while tossing rocks at me but what's the big deal with the 67's? I have a 65 fastback.
i would rather have a 65/66 fastback over a 67/68, ever seen that year one ad in car craft or muscle mustangs?

looks better in the magazine[&:]

atomsk680- why do you like the coupe better? Is that a bias opinion (obviously) but are there any differences in performance between the fastback and coupe? Or is it simply just looks?
Also, do the '67 mustangs usually come in automatic. I really would love to have a manual transmission but it seems that MOST of the '67s are automatic. Anybody?

other then looks, the fastbacks are a little more aerodynamic, no real performance addition.

but i love a dark colored coupe, lowered front end with a little raised rear looks sweet.i mean, look atmost of the other muscle cars of that time, there all coupe or convertable, ford was really the only one with fastback options for there cars. im not saying there is anything wrong with the fastbacks, but you gotta remember theres nothing wrong with the coupes either.

i bet they made more auto's in 67 then they did standards

how much work/cost does it take to get the rear up a little? I might have found a potential '67 but would need to replace these huge 20" rims with racing tires. With replacement of the tires, is lifting the rear easily done? What about putting some fiberglass in the front-whatever that is to make the front touch the ground. (or is that no good for a classic coupe?)

a normal thng many classic owners do are buy some 620 lowering springs from mustangs plus, that will lower the front an inch or so, then you can either get some leaf springs to lower or raise the front, or you can get some spacers that are sometimes called shackles to raise the rear.

im planing on getting some 620 lowering springs and a front chin spoiler and some new leafs top raise the rear to give myself the downhill look.

top 5 reasons i love my 69 fastback

5. who needs a rear view mirror the mailbox rear glass only allows all six inches of vision haha
4. chevy guys look at you with wonderment
3. people who know nothing about mustangs ask if its a boss 302, if i can tell they arent joking i reply yes i paid an arm and a leg for her haha...
2. 65-70 fastbacks are the best looking cars ever produced they are just timeless in there styling...
1. cause the chicks dig it...

but it took me 3 years to find a 69 (i had a specific year too) with a 351 4v and toploader and after 3 years i found it for 9800 at country classic cars in illinois so i drove from north carolina to there and trailered her back 15 hours home and everytime i stopped i got offered to sell it to someone...so its not just me or you but i think everyone has a soft spot for fastbacks as for mine Emily (short for M code) is on her way to becoming an fe 427 powered trans am replica, i got my 67 427 fe block last week an NOS block with standard bore i paid 2300 but it will be worth it im plannin on a 5 year or less resto...but to the 67 guy why not get a fixer upper i mean does it have to be a mint condition car or look into 69 70 fastbacks havent seen quite the surge 65-68 has and to soaring i believe too in a few years after eleanor mania cools off the prices will peak and we will see a nice decrease thank goodness...

I guess I didn't explain my situation...I want a fastback really bad b/c it seems to me that they look a little more sporty than the coupe. Unfortunately, I just don't have the time to do a complete restoration (that will be later down the road) and am looking to find something that is pretty much ready to go with mainly only the cosmetics needing to be done (paint, etc.). I think from what I'm hearing, the fastbacks are the cars to have but I might have to work with a coupe for now and (upgrade?) to a fastback later. I think the classic can never go wrong.

your never wrong with what you pick, buy a coupe now, enjoy, and later on, get yourself the fastback you want

I think people always want what they dont have, you marry a blonde but then want a brunette or redhead only kidding, I have a 67 fasback that i got when I was 15 we paid $1200 for it , it was in pretty decent shape as well. Its never been on the road. Its been at my moms house in the garage all these years. I'll be 35 this year. I also have a 68 coupe that Ive been redoing over the past 2 years which Ive made quite a bit of progress on. I look at the restoration of the 68 coupe practice, because I dont want the fastback to be a learning experience. But I want a 65 or 66 fastback. I think it goes back to wanting something you dont have.
