Well my buddy and I have been in the process of fixing his backup lights. After some searching we discovered that the safety switch on the C4 isn't even hooked up. Someone hard wired the 4 pronged connector at the firewell so that the car would start (yeah you gotta make sure she's not in gear when you fire it up [&:]). Anyway I tried simply wiring the switch back up to see if it may work by some miracle of god but I rolled craps. This weekend we intend to take the switch off and see about fixing the issue.

I'm sure someone else has been down this road before, and I didn't know if anyone could thorw me a few pointers or common problems/things to look out for.

Same thing on my 70. Maybe you'll get luck but most likely reason hard wire is to bypass because it went bad. Could have gotten out of align. If you got a shop manual pretty good description on how to put in new one and align properly. If you don't have a manual I can scan the page for 1970 and end to you.
