i just replaced the whole upper control arm assembly last month and yesterday i discovered that the upper ball joint boots are completely torn all around. does this mean i get to replace the ball joints now??
i'm really pissed cuz my old units (12 years) arent torn at all.
and if you're wondering, i got my parts from American Pony Parts.
has anybody else had this problem?

Are you sure they are torn, or just leaking some grease? I have bought from American Pony before, they seemed reputable, you might call them and see what they say.

 

if i can see the ball joint stud thru the boot, i think its pretty much smoked.
i'll call american pony and hear the excuses. they accept returns within 14 days so i may be screwed.
