They used 4 V heads with different valves and runners, so the answer is YES/NO

Think 302 heads for awhile, There are all kinds of 302 heads each has different vales and different runners. And different chambers.
The Cleveland motor had 5 different heads
2barrel, 4barrel, Boss,351M and 400M . There was another one for Marine use but that don't count. The 351 M and 351 2barrle were virtually the same.

We are mixing terms hear. Back then 4v meant 4 barrel carb not 4 valve head, No Cleveland had 4 valve heads. 4V heads were 4barrle Carb heads, they were different then 2 barrel heads and boss heads were different from 4barrle heads in that they had bigger valves and larger runners. Boss heads were also 4V heads in that, the boss had a 4 barrel carb. But different from the 4V or 4 Barrel heads.
I’m confusing myself. , when you talk 429 it gets worse. and 427 is the worse of all cause they made a 427 thatused a 4 valve head (dohc)and they made a 427 4V head that was 2 valve but had a 4 barrel carb. I have to go sit down and get a beer.

You are confusing me also. Don't you mean 427 SINGLE OHC 2 valve head? I could be wrong but I've never heard of twin cam heads for the FE 427 Cammer. That said there are a bunch of different heads for the FE family of motors including the 427.

Here is another option from Motorsprts. This is a non-siamese bore (Siamese bore is even stronger) however this is an excellent block, I ran a 408ci and abused it for years on a block identical to this (625rwhp). My $.02

Good Lord......1750 for just the block? I could completely overhaul my engine and run it for another 100 thou for that price. But, it wouldn't be a racing engine either. Man, you guys really pay through the nose for your racing toys.

^LOL. Good point. But bear in mind I ran 600+RWHP with NO problems at all. when you get down to brass tacks, a little money up-front saves a lot of hours of tear down and re-build in the future. That is how I have always looked at it, the hell with scratching by on bare essentials.

different chambers yes, different valves yes (early valves had the "tips" on the ends of the stems, and E6SE heads had a shorter stem length) but 302's always had the same head diameter and the runners were all the same, cept for the gt40 series heads

The original Cammer was a DOHC 427 FE engine that the exhaust came out where the intake was . It was made for Indy and can am, The Gt40 type cars.
The 427 SOHC was also a FE block mostly used for drag racing. I seen John Force with one of these in a Mustang sitting sideways in the Back, He called it a sidewinder, It was Chain driven. If you ever get a chance to talk to John ask him about his sidewinder.
the DOHC had 4 cams and made way to much HP. . Indy people made them go to 289 cubic inch the next year,
427 DOHC

Interesting! Can you hook me up with the site that you got that information from?Where are the cross bolts on the motor in the pictures? It appears to be an aluminum block also.

Oh, I completely agree, but although the Mustang is the perceived race car of the American industry and kids and little girls purchase V6's with the intention of having a true American sports car, they really don't get that. That mind set is at the other end of the spectrum, and the racing mind comes to bear with all the goodies to make the classic designed American sprots car of the mid 60's and early 70's come to life as a dream of wonderful power that will whip any and all other cars in a speed contest. Bottom line. The American sports car technology of the 60's and early 70's is dead and buried.
