Nice one Oxnard, the guy told me it came off a "67 deluxe" - I wasn't aware that it was a smog item. I wonder if its not just better to shuck out a few bucks now and be done with it - this carb is pretty dirty is going to require alot of work. Holley, here we come...... or spend a bit more and do the 4100

Do the 4100 - for many reasons if not for the single reason that the whole bottom half is one piece. No where for any fuel to leak out of a gasket. Easily tunable and they are a great carb. It's been hit or miss on Holley's as far as I am concerned. Although the Barry Grant carbs are nice.

I think I bought my 4100 for around $55 - they're out there still and pretty cheap. Get a rebuild kit or have Pony do the rebuild and it'll last for years!
Look on Craigslist.org for stuff too...

Buya 4100 on the cheap and then send it to Pony Carbs... it'll cost less than $500 that way. MakeDAMN sure to get one with the short accelerator pump snout... Pony won't do any work on the ones with a long snout...
Link has a picture showing the difference from long and short snout... http://www.ponycarburetors.com/defau...identification

If you want to do the spreadbore conversion then you have to pickup a 4100 carb with the 1.12 primaries (fyi - the number 1.12 is stamped on the side of the carb for reference)

The folks at Pony really seem to know their stuff - I called with some questions aboutthe Autolite 4100 carb vs. a Holley carb and the person I spoke with was very helpful.
