holy crap mustang lover, yalls prices are low!!! thanks guys. we'll keep in touch mustang
And lnulike jegs, summit and abunch of others our engines are custom built not assemblyline built. which means you tell us what you want to do with it and we will design an engine to do it. but it does take a little time currently 6 to 8 weeks.

Now, if you want to build that kind of hp with a 302 use the 5.4 in rod with the Ford hp 302 block, steel crank, GT-40 big valve head, roller rockers, 700 cfm Double-pumper, the right manifold, Hooker Super-Comp headers and you won't need to spend the extra money for other drive-line parts to hold the 400 lbft of torque the 347 or 406 will build. Plus you will save the weight of those parts. And let's face it...having your red-line at 8000 IS kind of fun.
Funny...no mention of this magic cam that can do all this. 8k rpm? Pass that doobie around man...

When goofing around as a kid, I had the opportunity to break a couple street motors. The last motor (small block) I built for the car had been set up to withstand 500 - 550 hp, balanced to 8,000 rpm. It had a solid lifter cam, which you could take to 7K, but really was 2400 -6600 power band.

Build it stronger than you need, and use a good street cam. Unless you're racing, a nice performance hydraulic street cam, and then you don't have to worry about over-revving, or adjusting lifters.

[sm=goodidea.gif]The 351W I pulled out of my '65 had a solid lifter roller cam that worked great and revved high, but was a drag to adjust after awhile. From that experience, I came to the realization that for me, there is such a thing as too much power for a street driven '65. My new motor is a 'milder' 302 with 375/394 and it is still difficult to put it to the pavement. Even with the full Global West suspension, I'm not totally confident in its manners like I was with my later model GT's. YMMV.

Maybe I am getting old.
