{Maybe the 750 seems crappy because it's too big for most 351s with an old intake manifold}

ya.i thought the same thing...holley's are great race carbs.....but a 750 cfm or a 750 cfmdouble pumper is a bit much for a stock 351w...considering a 600cfm elderbrock is good up too 400 horse with right jetting.....750 is just a little much...600 to 650 cfm is the perfict carb for a small block ford...unless your runing 11 or 12 1/2 compression and a air gap manifold in that 351w

I agree with roostracing ... an RPM Air-Gap dual-plane intake and a 800 Thunder Series carb. That's what I just bought for my 408 stroker with Victor Jr heads. The 650 cfm according to Edelbrock is too small for my application and would just be a problem at WOT. I looked into EFI as well ... kinda a lot of work and $$$$. Edelbrock has a complete kit but it's a speed-density system (not all that great). Holley has a TBI speed-density system too (even worse) as all the fuel is just shot into the intake like a carb system so why bother? Mass-Air-Flow has a system which uses a GM mass-air-flow-sensor close to the intake and a A9L Ford computer (87-93 I believe). It seems quite expensive and I wonder if your cammed up a lot if there will be a problem with the air coming back out of the intake at idle and the sensor will get erroneous readings? I also looked at just doing the 5.0 swap but since I don't have any parts I'd have to get the whole shabang and it seemed like a lot of work too for the amount of time I'd be driving the car. Also because I have the newer 4R70W eaod tranny I still needed a way to control it so I am going with the Baumann TCS which I have now. If you go on the edelbrock site it has info about sizing carbs vs hp and that may help. IMO just go get a good dual plane intake and the proper sized carb and be done with it. Good luck with your decision.

It's why a detailed description in the post is even better. Sigs tend to not be updated as progress is made, and can end up with two words related to the post buried somewhere in the middle of several lines of informationthat does not.

If it really is going to be a 460, we needed to know that from the get-go instead of wasting time with 351 thoughts. I'm still not sure which it will be. . .
