nice dude yall should cruz to fla when yall are done well have our own meet here lmao . urs is a fastback though if i am correct? mines a coupe . theres just a certain uniqueness of my coupe that triggers me off but every1 has something bout there own cars that they lov ... but there is a guy around here with a 70 fastback says looks and runs great for 1000 bux wonder if he sold it yet ... if only i had the cash for it ha ha . tues is when ima get the chance to finish that 1 spot on the top and my floorboards go in and theres a broke spot on the front fram that i need to tag with the welder. then all i need is 4 new tires , waterpump and its road worthy then ima put it in the shop cuz i dont feel like dealing with the steering its just a little rubber boot causing play in my steering and its just alot of nonsense work for so little so why not give some1 25 bux to do it ha ha i wanna do everything myself but hey whatever . ill put the new steering colomn in myself when i get it lol oh and speakin of new steerin colomn does any1 know any cars thatwould be compatible steering that i could snag out with tilt i need tilt im 6'3 and i aint tiny so the size isnt very accomodating for me to get in and out.

Yeah it is a fastback but I do have part of a donor car that is a grande.Got it for towing it off,a tree had fallen on the roof and crushed it.Everything else was in pretty good shape.A lot of it has been parted out now but if you need some parts let me know andI will see if they are still on the car.
If you do have frame problems as you say be sure to check everything to make sure its square before you weld it up.As you see in the pic my welder is sitting in right there by the car,I have had to do quite a bit of welding to the car.New floorpans, one new frame rail ,the trunk pan ,and one rocker panel.
As far as your steering there can be many things that cause play in the wheel, but if you have a front frame rail broken that may be the problem. The floorpans are basically your frame when the front framerails are welded to it,if there is structural damage that could very well be your steering problem, your frame could be flexing and causing the play in the wheel.I say this because this was the problem with my car.It was flexing so badly that it was tearing the framerail and floorpan like a beer can being torn in half.
Other places to look are ball joints, tie rod ends ,slave cylinder, and steering box.Basically any of the moving parts in the front end lol
I would love to find a tilt column for mine but most of the ones ive seen require you to wire a switch for the key in the dash.If you run across one that has the key in the column please PM me the link.
Keep us posted on the car
Jeff

PS where in FLA?I have family in Port St Lucie

hey thats cool im in winter haven bout 45 mins from orland(30 if im driven) the play is caused by this little boot rubber thing that has 3 pins in it and its like rubber leather and the leathers got a rip in it and it stretched maken the pins further apart and loose . least this is what im told by the owners before me . and as for the frame the peice in front of the radiator at the bottum if broken from itself the bottumhas been tacked but i am gonna finish the weld the rest of the way around . tuesday and on tues ill also be puttin new floorboard in the friont . and fixing the little spot on the roof . as for the part care that an awsome offer and i appreciate it but the only thing i think i need is the 2 mirrors , all my emblems but i think those are specific to my car i dont believe the grand had the nice cursive ones this did , all interior peiece except seats , including carpet lol but ill probly have to buy this and dashpad being that i want interior all black , and there was a few other things but i cant think of em right now

I dont know if the cursive ones came stock on the grande or not but this one had one on it on the left front fender ..the right fender was missing the lettering but you can see where it was.I dont know anything about this grande's history beyond a buddy of mine in the tree service calling me and saying ifI wanted it to come get it after they cut the tree off of it lol

The Grande did have the script emblems. Mine are off the car now but I still have them.

I draged mine out from the back yard so I can get it in the garage and start to work on it. It needs a lot of work so it will take some time, but until then I will be driving my 73.

I know the seats and carpet are shot in the grandeI have but I will look the next time im out there and see what exactly is still in decent shape. There is no wiring in the car that was the main reasonI got it.My harness was fried. The PO had tin foiled up the fuses and it cooked the harness inside and out.

So if 73's grande has the script emblemsI would guess they did come stock on the grandes? anyone?

oh man that pretty much shoots this car down for ya then, the tree fell on the car across the roof right at the doors.all the door stuff on the left side is shot, andI took all the guts out of the passanger door to put in my car.The dashpad is still laying inthe car but is in horrible shape.I do have a center console for a fastback though. It needs some TLC like a new arm pad but other than that its in good shape.I will drag it out and take some pics of it next time I'm down in the shop
Now as far as gaugesI know that the whole harness from the grande worked in my fastback.Luckily the grande was an A/C car so the harness worked great in my fastback. The guage cluster was the same.I do have abunch of parts for the 70 guage cluster as well as a bezel (I think).the only thingI dont thinkI have an extra one of ,is thevoltage guage. When my harness fried,it fried the gauge soI had to use the one out of the extra bezel.
WhenI get a few extra minutes I'll dig it all out and see whatI do and dont have.Hopefully I will have some of what you need.
