Lower radiator hose

You might get by with a real thick hose, but the spring was put in the hose to keep it from collapsing under high pressure. I will be sending sxs191 and extra that I have.

I thought with these new hoses you don't need the springs in the lower radiator hose?? I put my old one back in the new hose for extra insurance but someone should clear that up for me.
I just got off the phone with a counter guy from Tony Branda, and he says that the concours hoses do not have a spring in them. He may be right, but all I know is that I have two hoses with springs in them. One is on the car that I put on when I replaced my radiator, and the other is in my trunk, That spring didn't just jump into the hose by itself.
