I really think you will be money ahead by getting a 289 or 302 instead of cutting up a perfectly good Mustang.

What you need to do is to ask your friend if you can sell the 350 so you can buy a Ford engine for your Mustang. Explain to him that it would cost you a lot of money to put the 350 in the Mustang and you don't have that kind of money. That 350 is an awfully good engine, but won't fit in your Mustang without a lot of alterations. Besides, it just wouldn't look right in a Mustang.

I say once that engines your , "IT's YOURS" you can do what the hell you want with it. Most people would understand why you shouldent drop a ford drivetrain in a chevy and viceversa, so i think he'll understand, But if you do go through with this You have to prop a Bowtie on the front where to pony goes, it's only fair. Just be ready to race ALOT. cause if i pulled up next to you i know i could not hold back wanting to race.[sm=gears.gif]
I have seen this done more than once in different years of mustangs. Not hard to do the swap but it is expensive, not worth the money because of the custom parts you need to get made. If you can make your own adapters, brackets, motor mounts, sheet metal work, adapter for the speedometer, hosesand drive shaft , then go for it, but then again if you have the money and time to do all this then.........you know what I mean. Thank him for the offer and if you can trade it for a newer ford motor...
i have a friend that drag races a fox body with a ls1 in it it can be done youll need to make motor mounts trans mount driveshaft maybe headers and alot of small things id do like they said sell it and buy you a ford engine
i wouldnt take it as a slap in the face if i gave a friend a ford motor and he wanted to sell it for a chevy motor to put in a chevy but then again i dont sink low enough to have chevy friends
but no if you tell him your plans it is common courtesy but he gives you the engine your the owner and can sell it if you please, for the record though i am a ford person but drive a durango and have a 69 road runner waiting for me to bless with parts so please dont hate me for liking mopars too but chevys thats just tasteless haha...

Find a ford engine. They're so cheap and plentiful. As for a 350 being an good engine..... I'm a chevy guy, as most of you know, so i do like the 350's. I think they make good power for cheap. However The Chevy blocks dont hold anything on the ford blocks. They're so weak. Chevy's blow up alot easier and quicker then Fords do. You see Glen? Im turning traitor on my own kind.

Yeah, get a Ford engine.
lol, You can find a cheap 302 in the junkyard that will run for cheap. I have a c4 tranny with lines, linkage, and a driveshaft sitting in my garage, and you can take them for a small price plus shipping. HOWEVER, the driveshaft is for a fairlane, so it would have to be modified, you can use your original driveshaft i think.
