I know there is a $400 302/c4 combo on craigslist here in san diego right now.... I would just search for a newer ford motor that will bolt up to your tranny and not go through all the hastle... UNLESS he has no problem with you selling it to get a ford motor... But I have a feeling he wont go for that...

After being in the same sticking point as you man, i say dont do it. its troublesome enough to stick a chevy in a ford, let along putting an 8 in to a car where everything is set up for a 6. one obvious problem would be mounting, the 6 is actualy mounted farther up than an 8 so addaptors would have to be either bought or made(same goes for trans mounts) Then you have the issure of the drive shaft not fitting and having to be cut, or most likly replace with a stronger v8's with stonger yokes, then to the rear that you would most likly want to switch to at least a 8in. and also the front springs would have to change and eventualy the spindles, leading on and on to other things. oh and the oil pan will not fit. This is all stuff iv found out from my mechanic, so im just transfering it all over to you. the cost for me to just get the enging in my car would be upwards of 3,000. so yeah i desided not to go with the 350. but hey man its a good engine i think, so if you wana do it, more power to ya.
