Windshield leaks
I just ripped off the old ones thinking it can't be that expensive to replace. Boy was I wrong. Back window trim alone was like $150.00. I haven't put them back on yet. I will pay someone to do that. I would really be pissed if I screwed up the new ones putting them on.

I went to some small used car lots and asked them who does their glass work some didn't want to talk unless I was buying... some did,,,got a guy to install my winsheild and rear back window seals ( I bought the parts) and he did it for 60 bucks,,,however am in the same perdicument asyou and will call the guy back,,,seemssome manufacturers are saying no need for sealant,,,well as we both know that's not the case,,,good thing I'm in AZ
I did both front and rear on my 68 last week. I used the 3M in a white tube like rmodel recommended. I really don't know if it works as everything is still frozen up here. One tube did both front and rear. I did the inside and outside. It had a consistency of roofing mastic. It looked like the black gooey stuff they seal flashings with. If it leaks I will oooz more in there I guess. As far as putting the trim on, it was easy. You have to be careful though. I used new clips and the trim popped right on. The only problem piece was the big piece on the bottom of the windshield. It's hard to push the trim toward the windshield so I used a mallot and a paint stick. Put the trim on as far as you can. Use the end of the paint stick on the front edge of the trim and tap it on. You have to lay the stick almost flat so you are actually driving the trim toward the back of the car and not downward. I used the paint stick so I wouldn't dent the stainless trim or harm the new paint.
