I just ripped off the old ones thinking it can't be that expensive to replace. Boy was I wrong. Back window trim alone was like $150.00. I haven't put them back on yet. I will pay someone to do that. I would really be pissed if I screwed up the new ones putting them on.

No, the only difference from a novice and a professional, is that the professional gets paid for the job.

Did you use any type of sealant? 3M makes a few good windshield adhesives. Check out here - it explains where to put the sealant.

I did both front and rear on my 68 last week. I used the 3M in a white tube like rmodel recommended. I really don't know if it works as everything is still frozen up here. One tube did both front and rear. I did the inside and outside. It had a consistency of roofing mastic. It looked like the black gooey stuff they seal flashings with. If it leaks I will oooz more in there I guess. As far as putting the trim on, it was easy. You have to be careful though. I used new clips and the trim popped right on. The only problem piece was the big piece on the bottom of the windshield. It's hard to push the trim toward the windshield so I used a mallot and a paint stick. Put the trim on as far as you can. Use the end of the paint stick on the front edge of the trim and tap it on. You have to lay the stick almost flat so you are actually driving the trim toward the back of the car and not downward. I used the paint stick so I wouldn't dent the stainless trim or harm the new paint.

Thanks for all the information. I have sealed the windshield with the 3M silicone. I am going to let it dry a few days before I water check it.
