Great ideas! Appreciate. I did my sons 67 in grabber orange and white stripes and it came out great. Can't have my kids car looking better than mine.

If you're not in love with the gold but want to stay true to the nature of the car, how about repainting it another factory correct color that you like more?

I thought about that also as an option. I think I am going to buy a model and play around with some paint schemes. I did that with the 67 and it helped me visualize how it would come out. The 67 is closely guarded by a 15 pound Jack Russell Terrier so be careful. Here's aother pic of the 67

Hertz was the first thing that came to mind for me too. If you want to stick with the red they did a few versions with red/gold but I prefer the more common black/gold paint scheme.

Edit: Great job on the Orange FB by the way. Never seen a Grabber Orange/White combo like that. Really clean. Now I'm considering that for mine

If you are considering the top to be one color, and the bottom another, think about where the division of the colors would be. I really can't imagining a place unless you use a chrome strip to separate them. I agree with Paddy about the LeMans stripe on a coupe. I would pick out the color you are most drawn to and paint the whole car that color.
