Default Windshield Wiper Fluid Pump

hey guys on my 66, i was wondering if i can test the little water pump outside of the car since there is no wiring. I just want to make sure it is working properly. Can i connect a 12v source to the connect or is there something else to it.? Thanks

I believe that is a one wire hookup. The body of the pump will serve as ground. Contact the body of the pump to a good ground and hit the wire with 12v. Make sure you have a good ground, something like the negative side of the battery.
