Default Brake Hoses

Trying to take off the stock front drum brake hoses on a 68 coupe and there is a horeshoe clip connecting the metal brake line to the rubber brake hose to the wheel cylinder, my question is the hose is stuck on there, so should i try and take the horseshoe clip off first? If so whats the best way to get it out of the way.

Probably rusted together. The clip you're referring to is there to hold the brake line in place, it doesn't bind the two together.

You'll need some rust penetrant to help get that nut loose.

A little heat may help, but you'll ruin the hose, fluid, and weaken the metal tube as well.

Clean it and spray it down with WD-40 or some other penetration fluid. Then you can either pry it loose from the horse shoe end with a big screwdriver or, if you can spin it to get clearance, tap it out with a punch and a hammer.
