I got another leak...
Hi Guys,
I noticed fluid on the inside rear tires, in a radial pattern. Not sure what it is, brake fulid maybe, any ideas? I have drum brakes, they have always sucked, but I do not see a change in performace. Could it be something else?
I have a 67 convertable with a 289, pretty much stock. I was considering upgrading the front brakes to disk, maybe adding a booster. I was planning to leave the rear breaks alone.

Take your drums off and see if the brake cylinders are leaking. That's the only thing it could be since your axle bearings are sealed. Look at and smell the fluid. Brake fluid has a distinctive smell and burned 90 weight rear end fluid smells like rotten eggs. The thickness of the fluid will also give it away as brake fluid is thin compared to differential gear oil.
