Default I want a fastback!

Just kicking a few ideas around. When I bought my mustang I was actually looking for a fastback. I wanted a 65 or a 66. Now that I am almost done with my 68 I feeling the need for my fastback. I had a 65 fastback in my younger years and loved that car. I had great memories in that car. Cruising, street racing, and working on her all the time. The only way I will be able to afford one today is to 1. win a lottery. 2. sell my house and buy the car(wife might not like number 2).
3. rob a bank. 4. Sell my car.

The only thing I am rally lacking(besides disk brakes) is cutting and buffing and tuning her to run at her optimal peak performance. I have a set of disk brakes, 9" rear end w/4:10's, the infamous "347", and a toploader. If I am going to sell the 68 I don't want to put these items into her as I would rather save these items for the next girl. Plus, I would never get all my money out of these items if I install them.

I mentioned getting another mustang to my wife and she about had a coronary(she got over it pretty fast). Not that I care, in one ear and out the other. The older I get the less I care what she says. I pretty much do as I please. If she don't like it she can move to Kalifornia and live with her mother. She just remembers all the time I spent on the mustang and not allowing her to nag at me. What the hell, the more time I spend on the car the less I have to hear her nag.

Before this turns into a novel, I just want to get your opinion of what my car may be worth. I know it varies according to different regions. I can't go into detail as it would be very tedious and a long read. The motor is a fresh 302 bored 40 over (306). It has a healthy cam and runs great when dialed in. The trans is tip top and the rear end is an 8". To see what I have done to bring her back, click only link below. Any and all advise and input is greatly appreciated.

believe it or not, I never really cared for them. Sure,I always thought the shelbys were cool.but as a kid I was never into the regular fast backs on the 64-68s(I always loved the 69-70 fast backs though). Anyway, they've grown on my a bit, butto change my mind now thatfast backs aresuper popular with everyone would probably make me a sell-out. So I won't go there.

It is funny, but I thought exactly the same as you. Liked the 69-70 fastbacks, and thought the 65-68's were okay. I really wanted a '65 and a convertible was too much so I went with a GT coupe. The funny thing is, the fastback at the time (1988) was about the same price as the coupe, more or less. Fortunately, I had a change of heart and really fell for the fastbacks before they got too expensive and was able to pick mine up for $3200 in 1994.

Valley, it'll cost you an arm and a leg to get a fastback to where your coupe already is. Are you sure you want to go there? Your coupe looks good IMO.

I also prefer coupes (I just prefer the "boxy" look) and thank God they are cheaper, right up my alley.

But it's still nice to see a fastback on the streets, a much rarer sight indeed.

option 5, keep the house and current car, sell the wife.

no different in the long run to her going back to california, just you profit instead of losing the house and car when she divorces you and takes your sorry @ss to the cleaners!
