ORIGINAL: DHos

ORIGINAL: Aussie66Fastback

the vette rims wont fit

if you want to keep the stock hubcaps and run externally as a sleeper, why are you putting a shelby valence on it? It will be half asleep

Seriously, you can get the original rims widened and leave the caps. Fit a wider tyre, problem solved, sleeperness retained.

why dont you post what you actually want to do...others will comment with good/ bad/ alternatives.
I figured the Vette tires would not fit.[:'(]
And hey jspagna1has a Shelby valance and spoiler (I think) and that doesn't look too unsleeperish at all. I only want those items for keeping the engine cool and sticking the car to the road.
And hey, widening the rims. That is a good idea, a very good idea. yeah[:-]

Whatthe car will be: Clearwater Aqu paint, Aqu/Wht pony Interior, No black paint on this car (not even the emblems, axles, engine bay, and chassis,) 5.0 motor with a T-5, and a complete sleeper look.
Currently rebuilding: the front end, the motor andtranny which is hanging from scaffoldling (actually the motor if fine, Im just going to repaint it).
Done: the floors (with fiberglass [8D]I love my boating skills), undercoating with Por-15, patching and epoxy primering coat two, and a Painless wiring set is just waiting to be installed.

What Im asking y'all for is good performance upgrades, which is a good motor, suspension help like mat11089said, and is there a good tire that will fit stock rims
ehhh...i probably wouldnt do that. it is MUCH better to replace with new metal but its not my car. i can understand being on a budget and not being able to actually replace them but just keep in mind that fiberglass is not the right way to do it. maybe try to save some money to do it the right way in a couple of years, just a suggestion.

Oh that wasn't a cheap way out fix, it was a strengthen the h#ll out of it fix. I ground down the whole interior to bare metal. There I only had a few pinholes and one big hole to fill. I fixed the big hole with newmetal and then coated the entire interior with fiberglass mat and polyester resign. Then I coated it all again with 8oz fiberglass cloth. My mother was thinking the same thing you were so I demonstated its new strength. I grabbed my 20oz eastwing and swung down hard in the middle of the rear passenger floorpan. Nothing XD

See nothing bad. And note the hole bad the gas pedal, I have plenty of metal rivets and am friends with a wielder.

The rust and holes in the front under the dash are probably the result of rain coming in thru the cowl. There is no good news there.

I was worried over that to. But I do believe that it was actually from the window being ajar for 10~20 years and a beavers nest being right there (no joke.)

Well Ill tell ya what i did for suspension and i love it.Could always improve but it wasnt too expensive.I drive straight and take corners fairly quick and its got a carbed late model 302..
Front:
620 springs(1 in lower plus 3/4 of a coil cut for total of 2 inches lowerd)
KYB gas adjust all around.
1 1/8 inche sway bar with poly end link bushings
Stock replacement tie rods, control arms and everything else
Back:
4.5 mid eye leafs

It sits completely level and handles nicely. But definitely get a monte carlo bar and export brace i still need to get those. Not the most high end suspension but i did it on a student income also, in fact my whole care was done that way.So i kno the budgets and time frame.

Beaver in Florida? I got 'possums, racoons and skunks here - and 'here' is 3/4 of a mile from Intel, 1/2 mile from Sun Microsystems, and across the river from Cisco Systems. The critters are all high tech of course.
If there were amimals in there, sprinke a box of baking soda to absorb any smells and neutrialize any droppings.

my Grandparents are in Tennessee (though theyre from Miami), and the only thing I need to worry about around here is the 8' gator in my pond. We named him Fluffy.

No, it does make it look better however it lowers your center of gravity therefore giving you better handling capabilities and less wind "pushing" you around. For instance before i cut the springs, the front was a bit higher and when i got go around 40+ the front wanted to "walk" around a bit now it hugs the road. Why do u think indy cars are so low.Not for looks and how fast do they take turns.
