I moved the let's get together to the top so that we can keep this interest going. I would love to host a golf tournament with all my friends on here, and have you guys show up for the MOCA show on the 4th of August. I cook a mean barbecue too.

Well i was informed yesterday by my dad that we will be attending and that sounds ok by me , besides i love a good game of golf and BBQ. What is MOCA?

 

MOCA is the Mustang Club of Austin, and hosts a Ford car show every August. Most of the cars that are shown are Mustangs, but there are a lot of other interesting cars like Comets, etc. Ford furnished a Ford GT that was shown last year, and I judged the 5 428 CJ's that were there. It's a fun day looking at all the cars, talking about them, and getting prizes, etc. We can do that on that Saturday, August 4th, then play golf on Sunday August 5th if that suitsthe majority of everyone's calendar. If we have enough guys show up, I'll put together a fun golf tournament where you won't need to know how to play to participate. It's called best ball. I'll have each foursome have a good golfer in it, and everyone tees off, then everyone goes to the best ball and all hit from there. The same holds true for the second shot etc. We will have one hole where you can only use one wood or iron for the entire hole, another for the closest to the hole on the tee off (par 3 hole) one for the longest drive, etc, etc. It will be a fun day, plus the opportunity to see each other's cars and talk about them.
If any of you want to stay longer and see this part of Texas, the Alamo is in San Antonio which is about an hour away, the Lyndon Baines Johnson ranch is near Johnson City which is about 45 minutes away, and they have tours of his boyhood home in Johnson city along with a museum of artifacts he owned. We have a Bonzai exibit and several wineries right here in Hays county. That's just a few things you can do.
