Exhaust question

Do i have to change my motor mounts for shorty headers if i have a 302 in a 65?

when we installed them on my buddies 65 we didnt have to...didnt even come close...they were the new ones by dough thorley

Hello.You won't have to change the motor mounts. If you have the stock 65 motor mounts, there won't be any problems. Hope that helps.

Except them cracking. If you put any power through the car, either get better engine mounts, or a torque strap

FWIW, JBAs require the '66 mounts per their instructions. Without them, the left header was contacting my steering box. On the other hand, I didn't have the same issue in my other '65 with JBAs but with '65 mounts. Go figure.
