67 radio problem
Hey i bought a 1967 Mustang about a week and a half ago and the radio is not connected. Supposedly it is the original radio but the person before us put a sony cd player in it. I want to rewire the original can you guys give me some tips. Or a diagram or something to make it easier.
You have two wires coming out the back. One is the positive wire that you hook up to a switched 12V source such as the black and blue wire coming off your ignition. The other is the negative and can be hooked to any negative source. You will need to take your gauge cluster out to get to it.Then you hook the antenna cable to it and you will have AM radio if it still works.
Coming out of the radio, the speaker connector is polarized, one male one female - the power connector has two male pins and you should match the wire colors although the pins may be a different diameter. The black-red tracer wire is for the lights, yellow-black tracer wire is switched power. If the speaker is beyond use, replacements are available, about $13.00.

Thank you guys. I now have a working radio in my mustang. And it actually sounds pretty good.
