Default coolant-drip,drip,drip

after cruising around for awhile, and then letting the car sit, it leaves a puddle of coolant from the overflow tube. I went from a 13lb. cap to a 16lb cap, and she still did it, just took 2 rides before it did it. I am scratching my head. Is thereair in the system, i have bled it a few times, seems fine.

If you are getting coolant from the overflow at the radiator, this is normal if your system has been recently topped off. The fluid will expand when heated, this can not be stopped no matter what pressure cap you are running.

There are two ways to prevent this situation, the first is to leave a little space in the top of your radiator for expansion, and the second being to get an overflow tank to catch and re-introduce the expelled coolant.

i kinda thought it may be normal, and it is after topping it off, everytime it drips, i top it again, quess it is best to leave it alone.

You are only supposed to fill it up to 1 inch below the top of the radiator anyway... At least thats what my manual says..

I had same problem and I decided to install an overflow tank because I have little kids and the neighbors' pets are always around. I didn't want antifreeze all over for them to find. Also I think it makes for a more efficient system if you can keep a little more water in. This is the one I bought on ebay for 38 bucks incl. shipping.
Supposedly if you buy the 15" one the brackets line up with the shroud bolts on the radiator support. I bought a 13" before I knew this and attached it to the support with self tapping screws.

dont forget if you install the overflow tank, you need a recovery style rad cap as well to draw the coolant back in as the system cools down.
