He has a 69 Jim, and correct me if I am wrong, but 69 comes before 70. I don't care what your book says. He has a 68 model, and it makes sense because Ford used parts from prior years back then.

The WES-T1 axle is listed as a 70 and it came out of a 69. Is that the original axle? It's got 37 years of faithful service behind it and parts break. If you look close, a WES-T is used on both 69 and 70 so whatever year it came from, Ford would service the axle as a 1970. Now to the rest of the markings on the tag- who knows?

On his picture taht he took, it looks like t says 8JA not 85A

yea i know it saies 85A i just realized that i was under car reading and telling wife to write the number down and when i cam to post i mis read her handwritting but the number matches what i have reasearched what should be in a 1969 mustang. Those will probally get replaced though,
