Alt. gauge?

Then just replace the amp gauge.

its been YEARS since the last post, but to correct some of the ASSUMPTIONS the ammeter is not loaded with the entire vehicle current. The wire on the back of the gauge is only like a 18 gauge wire and there is absolutely no way even 20 AMPS could go through it. Most cars even GM used a shunt style system which actually reads the voltage differential on two ends of a circuit (the charging circuit in this case)
