Hi all, got a question about my transmission.My car is A 64.5 conv. with a 260 and a cruise-a -matic .I noticed one day that I lost my middle forward gear,everthing else seems to work fine.It shifts into reverse all neutral gears work goes into drive,when I slow down goes into low,seems to rev up propery.But when I shift up to second it shifts into drive,from drive to second nothing happens ,no increase in revs.Is there A valve or something fauty,or is my tranny on the way out(trans. fluid is full and clean,just changed it and new filter).Any help would be appreciated. Could be a band adjustment. Get a repair manual that goes through how to adjust the bands. I would stop driving the car very much until you find the problem, as auto's can't take a lot when limping before they go out completely.
