Finally, I got the new harmonic balancer installed. Man what a project. I could have never gotten it off without a balancer puller and never gottten it back on without an install tool kit. Autozone leased it to me for $30, and I get that back when I return it. Pretty good deal. That thing is not easy to get off and on,so the tools are a must.

I like the new Fluidamper. The timing marks are SO MUCH EASIER to see. I have a digital timing light, but the clear marks make it much easier to set the timing. It is very stout and helped my vibration problem, but did not eliminate it. The vibration is now more isolated and moved to between 2700 and 4000rpms.

I guess the next step is to install the new flywheel when it arrives. Hopefully that will eliminate the vibration!

Hey urban, did that cleveland come stock in your mach? Just asking cause the PO told me that the one I have came stock in the mach. I did some searching and did infact find out that some did come stock but it was very few. Maybe a rare find for me??? Glad to help.

I am not sure whether the orginal motor was a Cleveland or Windsor. I know it was a 2V car since the engine code is an H. I am pretty sure this is not the orgianl motor. The PO told me the 351C that is in there now is a '70 model. It also has 4V heads, so that does not all match up as orginal. Never the less, that does not bother me at all. I have a 351W in my '88 Bronco, and I think I like this 351C much better! Thanks for all the help!

I heard to look at the date stamp on the engine. If the date is less than 3 months from your production date then the motor could be assumed to be original. I have yet to check my date yet. 2V has that stamped on the front of the heads, same with 4V. Mine is 2V with a 4 barrel conversion and 2V heads.

Edit: Oh forgot to thank you for reminding me to torque my balancer on my 67. Did it today. Oddly enough torque was 70-90 ft.lbs. On my 97 ram, torque was around 150 ft.lbs. Go figure.

Actually, the date should be no less than six weeks but could be up to four months. Ford let the castings 'rest' prior to machining.
